Build is the stage of the Conosco.AI approach where we make the apps, AI agents and automation that off-the-shelf tools cannot provide. It is for growing businesses with recurring work, such as board packs, contract review, hiring or forecasting, that no product fits well, and that want a tool built on their own Microsoft 365 and Azure platform.
When off-the-shelf tools do not fit how you work, we build what does. AI makes building faster, so a tool made for one job is now worth doing.
When should a business build a custom AI tool instead of buying one?
When the work is specific to how you operate and it happens often. A monthly board pack, a contract review against your own standards, a hiring process with your own stages: these are jobs where generic tools leave people copying between windows.
If a product already does the job well, buy it; that is Adoption. Build is for the gaps.
What we do
- Apps for one job. Board packs, contract review, hiring, forecasting: the work you do every month, in one place, with AI drafting and your people approving.
- Agents and automation. Routine steps handled end to end: requests routed, records updated, people chased, with a person in the loop where it matters.
- On your platform, reviewed before launch. Built in your own Microsoft 365 and Azure, on your data and controls, and reviewed by Conosco’s security team before it goes live. It is yours to keep, with no Conosco IP embedded.
What is an AI agent, and is it safe to let one act on our systems?
An AI agent is software that carries out a sequence of steps for you, such as routing a request, updating a record and chasing the person who needs to act. We design each agent so a person stays in the loop where it matters: approving, checking or deciding.
Agents run on your platform, under your controls, and nothing goes live until Conosco’s security team has reviewed it.
Where does the AI sit in a custom app?
AI does the reading: it sifts results, spots patterns and drafts commentary. It never produces the numbers; tested code does, so figures are consistent and can be checked. Your people review the draft, apply judgement and decide.
That is why our apps put AI drafting and human approval side by side. A board pack arrives with the figures calculated and the commentary drafted, ready for someone to check and sign off.
Where does the app run, and who owns it?
Everything we build runs on your own platform: Microsoft 365 and Azure, with Power BI and Dataverse where they fit, or a custom application in your own Azure. It uses your data and your controls, and there is no Conosco IP embedded, so it is yours to keep.
Your team can run it, or Conosco keeps running and improving it. Either way, one technical lead owns every request and brings in Conosco specialists as needed.
Can a custom app connect to our existing systems?
Yes. We connect to the systems growing businesses already use, including Microsoft 365, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Salesforce, HubSpot, Bob, Slack, Notion, Atlassian, Asana, Dropbox and Google Workspace. Joining those systems is often done first, in Efficiency, so the app has clean data to work from.
How do you measure whether a build was worth it?
We take a baseline before we build and the same measure again afterwards. For Build, the outcomes are time back for your people, measured in hours per task and per week, and lower cost per process, measured as cost and time per transaction, request or report.
Can we see examples first?
Yes. Our examples page has clickable demos for property board reporting, contract review, hiring and workforce planning. They use made-up data, so you can try them freely.
Who is behind Conosco.AI?
You can use us alongside an existing IT provider. We usually start with a one-week AI readiness diagnostic that ends with a baseline and a costed plan.
Where this fits
Build is the last of the four stages. It follows Efficiency, where we map how work moves and join up your systems. The earlier stages are Foundations and Adoption, and you can start at any of them.
