Adoption is the stage of the Conosco.AI approach that helps growing businesses choose, set up and use the right AI tools, whichever provider they come from. It is for UK SMEs that are paying for AI licences few people use, or are not yet sure which tools to buy, and want AI adoption they can measure.
Buying licences is the easy part. The harder part is choosing the right tool for each role, setting it up so it reaches the right data and nothing more, and making it part of how people work each week.
Adoption is about the AI tools you buy. If what you need does not exist off the shelf, that is Build, where we make tools for you.
Which AI tool is right for my business?
There is rarely one answer for the whole business. Some tools work inside the apps your people already use; others suit other kinds of work. The right mix depends on what each role does, the data it touches and your budget.
We compare the options against your roles and costs, then recommend which tools, for whom. Conosco can license Microsoft tools for you, so purchasing sits with the same team that sets them up.
Why do so many AI licences go unused?
Usually because the tool arrived without a reason to use it. People are given access, shown a few features and left to work out the rest. Without examples tied to their own tasks, most try it a few times and go back to what they know.
Licences then renew at full cost while active use stays low. Adoption fixes the cause rather than the symptom.
What we do
- Choosing and licensing tools. The options compared for your roles and budget, whichever provider they come from, so you pay only for licences that earn their keep.
- Set-up and controls. Each tool configured securely, connected to the right data and nothing more, with usage you can see.
- Training and champions. Training by role, shared prompts for the tasks people do every week, and a champion in each team who helps colleagues and feeds back what works.
How do you set up AI tools safely?
Every tool is configured with your security in mind: who can use it, which data it can reach and what it may be used for. Usage reporting is switched on, so you can see who is using what.
AI tools see what your people can see, so if you have not yet checked permissions and oversharing, do that first. Our AI security readiness assessment checks identity and access, oversharing, sensitivity labels and AI policy before any AI tool is switched on.
What does good AI training look like for staff?
Good training is specific. A finance lead and a sales manager do different work, so they need different examples. We train by role, using the tasks each team does every week, such as drafting, summarising, preparing for meetings and working through documents.
Each team gets a set of shared prompts it can reuse and improve. A named champion in each team keeps momentum after the training ends and becomes the first person colleagues ask.
How do you measure AI adoption?
We start with a baseline and end with the same measures taken again. For Adoption, the two that matter are active use by team, and licences in use against licences paid for.
The outcome is AI your people actually use. If a team is still not using a tool after training, that is useful to know too: you can reallocate or drop those licences rather than keep paying for them.
Can we work with you if we already have an IT provider?
Yes. You can use us alongside an existing IT provider.
One technical lead owns every request and brings in Conosco specialists as needed, so you have a single point of contact throughout.
Where should we start?
If you are paying for licences few people use, or are not sure which tools to buy, start here. We usually start with a one-week AI readiness diagnostic: up to a day of your team’s time, a fixed fee agreed before we start, and a baseline and costed plan at the end.
Where this fits
Adoption follows Foundations, where identities, permissions and AI governance are put in order, and leads into Efficiency, where we join up your systems and remove manual work. You can start at any stage. To see AI applied to real business tasks, browse our examples.
